Work on Buzdar cardiology institute reviewed
DERA GHAZI KHAN: The outpatient department (OPD) of under-construction Sardar Fateh Muhammad Buzdar Institute of Cardiology will be functional within a fortnight.
This was claimed by commissioner Liaqat Ali Chatta while inspecting the institute here on Wednesday.
The commissioner said recommendations for approval of 487 posts of doctors, consultants, surgeons, paramedics and other staff have been sent to the respective authorities.
He said medical examination of heart patients would be started by obtaining a temporary electricity connection for the cardiology institute, adding that every possible effort would be made to make the emergency ward functional within a month.
He said installation of lab and other machinery is being done expeditiously and all required funds have been released for the hospital.
The commissioner was briefed that the cardiology institute was being built on 44-kanal area and about Rs2 billion would be spent on the project.
GYMKHANA POLLS: The first election of Dera Ghazi Khan Gymkhana Club was held here.
Club President/Commissioner Liaqat Ali Chatta said the gymkhana would be run under public-private partnership. He told members that audit of the club had been conducted by a reputed firm.
Allah Bakhsh Korai won the slot of general secretary by getting 214 votes while his two rivals Miraz Zafar and Imtiaz Leghari obtained 196 and 194 votes, respectively.
