MQM-P to get governor’s office very soon: Amin

KARACHI: A senior leader of the Muttahida Qaumi Movement-Pakistan on Thursday said that the party would get the position of the Sindh governor very soon.

The MQM-P had in March signed a charter of rights with the Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz under which the then opposition alliance had agreed to give the position of Sindh governor to an MQM nominee once it formed the federal government.

However, nearly six months have passed but the MQM-P has not been given the position, which is still vacant. The MQM-P had nominated senior leader Nasreen Jalil for the gubernatorial office.

Speaking to journalists during a visit to the Karachi Press Club, MQM-P leader and Federal Minister for IT and Telecom Aminul Haque said that his party had forwarded the name of Nasreen Jalil and “very soon” the governorship of the province would be given to the MQM.
