Radio Pakistan gets first woman station director
PESHAWAR: The first woman station director of Radio Pakistan, Peshawar, Syeda Iffat Jabbar has assumed charge of her office at the Broadcasting House here.
She was appointed as station director following her promotion by the PBC headquarters, Islamabad, to the post of controller (BPS-20).
Ms Jabbar had joined the Radio Pakistan, Peshawar, as a programme producer.
She has a lot of experience in all formats of broadcast production and earned a name by creating thousands of special programmes and literary events.
During the recent floods and rains, she introduced mobile units of Radio Pakistan to create awareness among the public for helping the affected people.
Iffat Jabbar presented Pakistan on various national and international forums, including BBC London, Voice of America, British Council, Deutsche Welle Germany, Radio Singapore, Radio Japan, Radio Bangladesh, Australia and Malaysia, and got the successful women awards.
