Man confesses to killing three brothers in Quetta: police
QUETTA: Police investigating the killing of three siblings have arrested their fourth brother for his alleged involvement in the murders and claimed that the suspect had confessed to shooting them down.
The incident took place in the Railway Housing Society neighbourhood of Quetta when the victims were returning home after attending a wedding ceremony. On being alerted, the police rushed to the site where it found three bodies and two other people, a senior police officer said, adding that the bodies were shifted to Civil Hospital.
The police said the fourth brother, Qais Khan Achakzai, and house servant Asfand were taken to a police station for interrogation as they were also present in the car when the deceased were returning home.
Initial interrogation revealed that Qais Khan had opened fire on the victims when they reached near their home. Asfand was also injured in the incident.
“Qais Khan confessed about firing on his brothers, saying he didn’t have good relations with them as they used to make insulting remarks about him,” a senior police officer said, adding that the suspect also said he was expecting a big share in property.
The suspect, according to the police, said he took his cousin’s pistol with him while going to the wedding along with his brothers and shot them dead when they were returning home. The police said he also threatened the house servant that he would kill him if he disclosed anything about the incident.
“We have recovered the pistol used by the accused to allegedly kill his three brothers,” a senior police officer said, adding that the Crime Investigation Agency was investigating the incident and had collected evidence from the car.
