The benefits of saving money as a kid

This is regarding the cover story “The benefits of saving money as a kid,” by Faraz Ahmed (YW, August 27). Saving money is the best habit one can develop and have.

Kids should know from the very beginning about the importance of money and how they can save or spend wisely. Whether one faces hard times or not, saving (money) is always helpful in a number of ways. For instance, one can buy things that they want and even help friends or siblings if they need some money.

And this article was helpful in reminding kids about the significance of money and how they can develop the habit early on and spend wisely.

How to become a writer in school

This is with reference to the cover article “How to become a writer in school” by Ambreen Arshad (YW, September 3). To be fair, all the key points mentioned in the article were worth reading and keeping in mind.

There is no doubt that everybody has a talent, all we need is a platform to polish and show our creativity and skills. And to become a good writer, one needs consistency of practice writing, seeking out opportunities, joining writing community and working in groups.

I really love reading articles in this magazine. Every time I open the magazine, I find even more exciting content than before. And so was the case in the cover story “How to become a writer in school” by Ambreen Arshad.

I liked this article because I am a passionate writer and for that I always seek guidance from my elders. This article proved to be very helpful as I noted down a lot of mistakes that I do and will improve on them.

I am thankful to the writer as well as the YW team for publishing amazing content.

The day I met my mother

This is with reference to the story “The day I met my mother” by Ramsha Farooq Raja (YW, September 10). It was a wonderful story-cum-personal experience. It literally jolted me from deep inside.

We don’t consider or even think about our mother’s life, her childhood or how she is as a person. We know her as someone who cooks our favourite meal and does other household errands. I have promised to myself that I will never be blind to my parents’ likes and dislikes, and will try to talk to them to know more about them.
