Man killed after being hit by train in Haripur
HARIPUR: A man was killed when a moving train struck him near Moonan village on Saturday, police and witnesses said.
Railway police and witnesses said a man riding a motorcycle was crossing the railway track near Moonan village when his motorbike developed a fault.
They said Rawalpindi-bound Hazara Express, which was coming from the country’s last railway station in Havelian, struck him while he tried to cross the track, leaving him critically injured.
The train stopped after the accident, and some volunteers shifted the injured to the Haripur Trauma Centre, but the doctors pronounced him as brought dead.
The deceased was identified as Aurangzeb, 37, a resident of Noordi village. The railway police registered a case.
