Four SHOs demoted, RRF set up in Larkana

LARKANA: Deputy Inspector General (DIG) of Police Larkana Range Mazhar Nawaz Shaikh has suspended and demoted four station house officers (SHOs) and set up the Rapid Response Force (RRF) by winding up 15-Madadgar Base I and II to combat the deteriorating law and order situation in Larkana.

SHOs Inspector Khalil Massan of Ali Gohar Abad police station, Ali Hassan Mughiri of Waleed, Umaid Ali Shah of Allahabad and Ammanullah Soomro of Haidri were suspended and reverted, said police sources on Thursday.

In-charges of 15-Madad-gar Bases-I and II, ASI Mumtaz Siyal and Sub-Inspector Waris Bhutto, were suspended. After closing both the bases, the DIG created the RRF and made Sub-Inspector Javed Abro its head.

The DIG in a letter to IGP on Sept 23 had recommended to post four ASPs in Larkana, Shikarpur and Kasmore districts. The SSP’s of the districts concerned had requested for the posting of ASPs who had recently completed their attachment with Frontier Constabulary.

The DIG had recommended transfers and postings of the police officers as per requests of the SSPs in the interest of the government work.

A full-fledged SSP of Larkana was expected to be posted till Tuesday, said the sources.

Meanwhile, a three-member delegation — comprising former presidents of the Larkana Chamber of Commerce and Industry — Aslam Shaikh, Masood Ahmed Shaikh and sitting president of small traders’ federation, Tarique Nazeer Shaikh, on Thursday called on the DIG Larkana Range.

They discussed with the DIG the law and order situation and the fresh actions he had taken to improve it. The sources said the delegation was quite satisfied with the steps taken for maintaining peace. They were told about the progress in the murder case of Abdul Manan Shaikh, a manager of a prominent food outlet, and two others. They were briefed about the efforts being taken to strengthen the police deployment.
