Pakistan lose to Malaysia 1 in snooker championship semis
KARACHI: Pakistan succumbed to a 4-2 loss to Malaysia 1 to make yet another unceremonious exit in the semi-finals of the World Team Snooker Championship in Kuala Lumpur on Saturday.
After taking a winning start, Pakistan lost the next three frames in a row to trail 1-3. They managed to win the fifth frame to reduce the deficit but lost the sixth to complete their engagements.
Malaysia 1 that comprised Moh Keen Hoo and Lim Kok Leong cruised to a 62-66, 49-13, 71-53, 81-25, 13-51, 54-16 victory over the Pakistani pair of Babar Masih and Ahsan Ramzan.
Pakistan, however, ended their medal drought by securing a bronze even after a defeat in the semis.
Earlier in the day, Pakistan whipped India 2 4-2 to reach the last-four stage. They won the battle 10-67, 89-22, 0-90, 63-26, 70-35, 72-44.
