Pakistan, Egypt vow to boost bilateral trade

ISLAMABAD: Pakistan and Egypt on Thursday vowed to boost bilateral trade, economic and diplomatic ties and emphasised people-to-people contacts.

According to the Prime Minister House, both sides renewed this pledge when Ambassador of Egypt Tarek Mohamed Dahroug called on Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif. The discussion focused on further strengthening of Pakistan-Egypt relations and the upcoming COP-27 in Egypt.

The prime minister appreciated Egypt’s support and solidarity in the wake of climate-induced floods which caused massive devastation in Pakistan.

The prime minister congratulated the Egyptian government on hosting COP-27 in Sharm El-Sheikh. The prime minister said he was looking forward to an active participation in the conference.

Pakistan and Egypt enjoy close and cordial ties rooted in shared values and perceptions, the statement added.
