Mind your commas and full stops

This is with the reference to the article “Mind your commas and full stops” by Rizwana Naqvi (YW, September 24).

This article made me realise the real value of punctuations and how punctuations play an important role in our use of language. Without punctuations, our script could look like a book without pages.

I also understood that often times we don’t get good marks, especially in Urdu and English subjects, despite studying well and also doing well in exam. This is due to not using punctuations correctly, which makes the meaning of the whole concept completely different. So to be good in the language, one must learn to use punctuation marks.

Chase your dreams

This is with reference to the article “Chase your dreams” by Aksa Khalid Samo (YW, October 15). I am of the opinion that chasing idols is nothing more than waste of time.

We all are blessed with various abilities and skills; however, we prefer to copy other people. It will be in our own good if we make our dreams and goals as our ideals and work in the direction.

Perceptions

This is regarding the article “Perceptions” by Rafia Ahmed (YW, October 15). I enjoyed reading the article as it clearly talked about what is the mindset of kids today.

Each one of us have started being judgemental day by day, without knowing the backstory of the people around us. And I personally believe that this is affecting us, our friendships, relationships and, most significantly, our trust.

Everyone has different points of view, what matters is how good we are at understanding others and how positive our thoughts are. We merely see one side of a story and make assumptions on our own about a lot of things that might not be true. It is my suggestion to all the readers that we should enhance our vision and think positively about everyone.

II

The article “Perceptions” by Rafia Ahmed brilliantly described how easily we perceive things without analysing and evaluating the complete story, thus leading to many misunderstandings and misconceptions.

As one’s thoughts are based on personal thinking, so it is unjustified to ignore the viewpoint of others. Things can never turn up bad if we see both sides of the coin before calling and tagging others wrong.
