Children’s literature conference begins in Islamabad today
ISLAMABAD: The inaugural ceremony of a three-day international conference titled ‘Children’s Literature: Past, Present and Future’ will be held on Monday (today).
The event is being organised by the Pakistan Academy of Letters (PAL) in collaboration with Daira-i-Ilm-o-Adab Pakistan in the Faiz Ahmed Faiz Auditorium. Adviser to Prime Minister on Political and Public Affairs Ameer Muqam will be the chief guest whereas Senator Irfan Siddiqui will be the guest of honour.
Federal Secretary National Heritage and Culture Division Farina Mazhar will express vote of thanks during the ceremony.
PAL Chairman Dr Yousuf Khushk will deliver the welcome speech while Amjad Islam Amjad and Mahmood Sham will be among the keynote speakers.
Various programmes have been arranged regarding children’s literature, in which scholars from foreign countries will also contribute their views.
A large number of teachers, experts and readers from different walks of life including important government and political personalities will participate in the conference.
