Minister inaugurates grid station in Faisalabad
TOBA TEK SINGH: Federal Minister for Power Khurram Dastgir Khan inaugurated on Monday a 500kV grid station at Pansara, Jhang Road, in Faisalabad district.
Addressing the inauguration ceremony, the minister said reliability of the power transmission network was important to provide uninterrupted supply to the consumers with improved voltage profile and the new grid station would improve power situation in the Faisalabad region.
He said the federal government was cognizant of the difficulties of the consumers and their issues like low voltage and forced power loadshedding, which were being resolved through addition of new grid stations and transmission lines.
Mr Khan said the Pansara grid station had been completed at the cost of Rs4bn and it would help to evacuate power from two LNG projects with a cumulative capacity of 2,400MW.
National Transmission and Dispatch Company Managing Director Engr Dr Rana Abdul Jabbar Khan said the project would strengthen the transmission network, which would provide relief to Fesco and meet the increasing demand of electricity of the consumers in Faisalabad, Jhang, Toba Tek Singh, Samundari, Gojra, Jaranwala, Ludewala, Narwala Road, Thikriwala and other areas. Fesco CEO Engr Bashir Ahmad also spoke.
