Constable kills two brothers in courtroom

TOBA TEK SINGH: A constable shot dead his two opponents, who were in custody, in the court of an additional district and sessions judge in Faisalabad on Friday and injured a colleague.

The victims, who were brothers, were identified as Muhammad Ramzan (30) and Muhammad Rashid (24), residents of Chak 226-RB, Malkhanwala. They were brought from the district jail to the court of AD&SJ Raja Shahid Zameer for hearing of a murder case registered against them by Faisalabad Saddar police.

When they were present in the courtroom, Amer Ali Vaince, a constable in uniform posted at Batala Colony Police Station, entered and opened fire on Ramzan and Rashid with his official pistol, killing them on the spot. In his firing, Constable Muhammad Akram, who was present in the court, also received a minor bullet injury.

Other policemen overpowered Constable Amer when he attempted to flee.

Regional Police Officer (RPO) Dr Moeen Masood and CPO Omer Saeed Malik also reached the courtroom and shifted the bodies of slain brothers to the Allied Hospital for an autopsy.

The suspect said he had taken revenge of the murder of his cousin Irfan Ali Vaince who was killed by Ramzan and Rashid.

In another incident at Chak 59/JB, Faisalabad, in the Sandalbar Police Station area, a man killed his elder brother’s wife and minor daughter.

According to SHO Arsalan Bari, police received a call that a woman, Saba Bibi, wife of Muhammad Shahzad, had shot dead her eight-month-old daughter, Hina Perveen, before committing suicide. When police reached the crime scene, they got suspicious and took Shahid, the younger brother of Saba’s husband, in custody for interrogation. It was found during interrogation that Shahid had killed his sister-in-law and her minor daughter over a domestic dispute.

BOOKED: Nawan Lahore police registered a case against five people, including three nominated ones, on the charge of stealing petrol from the Parco pipeline supplying petrol from Karachi to Sheikhupura.

A Parco assistant security officer said, in the FIR, that Saad Salim of Sheikhupura, Shahid and Asghar of Faisalabad and Muhammad Aslam and Dilshad Ali of Chak 336/JB, Nawan Lahore, and their two unidentified accomplices had dug up earth down to the pipeline and were selling petrol at a petrol filling station located at Nawan Lahore. No arrest has been made so far.

WALL COLLAPSE: A brick kiln worker died when the wall of a kiln fell on him at Gojra.

According to Rescue 1122, Irshad Maseeh of Basti Eissa Nagri was working at the kiln outside his locality when its dilapidated wall collapsed on him.

Other workers rescued him after removing debris and shifted him to Gojra Tehsil Headquarters Hospital where he succumbed to his injuries.
