Fear of missing out, FOMO

This is regarding the article “Fear of missing out, FOMO” by Benazir Raz (YW, October 8). This article interpreted a very important concept of life that we should always value ourselves and our dreams in every situation.

I do agree with the writer that these days many of us develop anxiety if we don’t get involve with the outside world. We think we will be left out from all the fun and cheerfulness of life.

However, during all these negative thoughts, we completely forget our own world, which is also full of surprises and lots of fun.

In my opinion, we all must enjoy the joy of missing out, that is JOMO and don’t care about other people’s lives.

The article “Fear of missing out, FOMO” by Benazir Raz was a wonderful article and I must say that it was the need of the time.

We all are hooked to our mobile and computer screens, scrolling through pages and pages and going on other peoples’ account and see their activities. And as we go through their profiles and pictures, we see their activities and lifestyles, and we get the feeling that these peoples’ lives are so interesting. And then we regret feel sorry for ourselves.

This is what FOMO is about. We forget that what we have is also good, only if we consider it so!

The writer suggested that when such negative feelings emerge, it’s time to reflect. The best thing is to completely forget about others’ lives and spend time with family because parents, siblings and grandparents are the best source of entertainment and enjoyment. Furthermore, spending time on creative things, like a hobby, could also prove to be beneficial.

In the same way, it is necessary for the young generation to cut off unnecessary relationships on social media apps, because this leads to anxiety and depression.

Beware of cyber risk

This is regarding the cover article “Beware of cyber risks!” by Muhammad Ibrahim Shafi from (YW, October 8). The writer discussed in detail how youngsters are into social media these days without being cautious of hackers and frauds.

There are hundreds of ways for hackers to get into one’s system and without even giving a hint.

Therefore, I would also suggest to the readers to be beware of cyberattacks that can hack your personal data and misuse your accounts.
