Health CEO suspended over Rs60m corruption
MIANWALI: The Punjab Primary and Secondary Healthcare Department has suspended Sahiwal Health CEO Dr Roy Muhammad Samiullah Gutt, the former CEO (DHA) Mianwali, from service on charges of fraud, corruption and financial embezzlement of about Rs60 million during his posting at Mianwali.
A copy of the order is available with Dawn. As per details, during his posting as CEO Health Mianwali, allegations of embezzlement and corruption by Mr Gutt were made before the then DC Mianwali who referred the case to the healthcare department secretary to inquire into the matter.
The secretary appointed Dr Muhammad Khalid Ahmed (BPS-19) programme director as the inquiry officer who found Mr Gutt guilty under the Punjab Employees Efficiency Discipline and Accountability (PEEDA) Act 2006.
The inquiry officer also recommended recovery of loss inflicted to national exchequer amounting to Rs58.9m from the officers of the District Health Authority Mianwali, including Dr Roy Mohammad Samiullah Gutt, former CEO, Faisal Hameed Khan, JC ex-accountant, and Taj Mohammad, former store keeper.
He recommended registration of an FIR against the guilty officers with the Anti-Corruption Establishment.
