SWABI: A nine-year old boy was shot dead in a wedding function in Razaar tehsil here on Sunday.

Witnesses said Haris Khan, 9, along with his brother, Masood Khan, was attending a wedding in Dawlat village, when Mubasir Khan, their relative, appeared there and shot him dead. The attacker escaped from the scene.

Yar Hussain police station officials told Dawn that brother of the deceased had got registered an FIR against Mubasir. However, he said cause of the killing was not known.

Meanwhile, a woman, identified as wife of Tawab Muneer of Dagai village, died when a van struck him while she was crossing the Swabi-Mardan Road. The driver of the vehicle escaped from the scene.
