Amir Muqam calls for governor’s rule in Punjab, KP
LAHORE: PML-N senior leader Amir Muqam who is also an adviser to the PM has called for imposition of the governor’s rule in Punjab and Khyber Pakhtunkhwa because of political turmoil.
Speaking at a press conference here on Monday, he said the Pakistan Tehreek-i-Insaf (PTI) chairman should tell the nation about the objectives of a long march on Islamabad. He said the PTI workers held demonstrations outside the offices of the army institution in Lahore and Peshawar. Imran Khan defamed Pakistan in the world, he added.
Mr Muqam said talks with Imran could not be held because he wanted everything of his choice.
“Khan wants the neutral not to remain neutral and support him,” he alleged and urged the federal government to impose the governor’s rule both in Punjab and KP because of political turmoil caused by Imran Khan.
PML-N-Punjab Information Secretary Azma Bokhari said Imran Khan was attacked because of ‘his Islamic touch’. She said Khan could not tell the nation how many bullets he had received. A plaster could not be placed on a wound, she said and added that Khan had now announced ‘digital long march’.
She said Imran Khan wanted to make the army chief ‘Buzdar’ but the federal government would make the appointment (of the army chief) on merit.
