PTI Swabi leader gets notice for violating party discipline
SWABI: Pakistan Tehreek-i-Insaf, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa president Pervez Khattak has suspended the basic membership of senior leader Biland Iqbal Tarakai, and issued a show-cause notice to him for violating the party discipline.
The show-cause notice was issued late on Monday.
It said Mr Iqbal had grossly violated the party discipline by giving false, baseless and objectionable statements against party policies and guidelines, using abusive, defamatory and inappropriate language against the party leadership and creating divisions in the party ranks and files, which was serious violation of the party’s constitution.
He has been given only two days to submit his reply, failing which his party’s membership would be cancelled.
Mr Iqbal is the uncle of provincial minister for elementary and secondary education Shahram Khan Tarakai.
Party insiders said a rivalry between Mr Shahram and Mr Iqbal had surfaced on October 17 during the inauguration of a college building in Swabi.
Mr Iqbal also remained PTI’s senior vice-president for Peshawar region. He is also the cousin of Senator Liaquat Tarakai and former MNA Usman Khan Tarakai.
