Imran to be prime minister again, says Khattak

SWABI: Pakistan Tehreek-i-Insaf provincial president Pervez Khattak has said that Imran Khan will again become prime minister as his party has become stronger after ouster from government.

Addressing PTI workers at Karnal Sher Khan Chowk here, he said that the popularity of PTI increased owing to the flawed policies of the federal government. He said that the ‘imported’ government hatched conspiracies but all of them backfired because people knew the tactics of the ruling coalition.

Mr Khattak said that the country could not make progress and the young generation would face a bleak future if the present crises were not controlled and justice was not provided to people. He said that the present rulers destroyed the country.

He criticised the federal government for increase in electricity tariff and prices of petroleum products. He said that inflation had become unbearable for people. He alleged that federal government tried to trap Imran Khan in the court, but when nothing happened, he was attacked.

He said that Imran Khan declared from the hospital bed that he was not afraid of anyone and would stand up for freedom of the country.

Provincial Minister Shahram Khan said on the occasion that people rejected the ‘imported’ government. He said that thumping victory of Imran Khan in the recent by-elections was an eye opener for his rivals.

“The anti-PTI parties would test another humiliating defeat in the next general elections. They are afraid of elections and that’s why they have adopted delaying tactics,” he said.

Atif Khan, another provincial minister, said that JUI-F chief Maulana Fazlur Rehman had claimed that there was a threat to Islam because petroleum turned expensive, but everything became fine when his son became a minister.

During the public meeting all roads remained closed at Karnal Sher Khan Chowk, a junction point in the district headquarters. The PTI workers placed chairs on the main roads for about six hours and the traffic police were diverting vehicles to the alternative routes but the strategy was not working because it was not possible for the other roads to absorb the heavy traffic.

The people flayed PTI for holding public meeting at the junction point of all main roads. They said that the playground of government high school was a perfect venue for the gathering but PTI leaders feared that it might be difficult for them to fill it.
