Bacha Khan varsity security discussed

CHARSADDA: A team of the Pakistan Army officers and jawans visited Bacha Khan University, Charsadda, on Friday where it was briefed about the security measures taken in the varsity.

The team included Lt-Col Naveed Abbas, Lt-Col Mohsin Gulzar, Capt Asfandyar Khan and jawans. It visited the control room and the area near boundary walls of the university where chief security officer retired Col Jan Firdous briefed them about security measures on the varsity premises.

Security in-charge Ashfaq Khan, police sub-inspector Nasrullah Khan and other varsity security staff accompanied Col Firdous.

Later, the army officers called on vice-chancellor Prof Dr Bashir Ahmad in his office and assured him of their full support with regard to security, whenever required.

The officers praised the security arrangements made by the university administration.

The VC said on the occasion that the personnel of the armed forces were always welcomed by the university administration. Both the army officers and the VC presented souvenirs to each other.

Meanwhile, books of 24 best writers of Charsadda district were published with the joint efforts of the district administration and district youth office.

Famous writer and novelist Zubaida Firdous Zobi’s book “Zubiyat” was also among these books. “Zubiyat” covered social, literary, cultural and historical themes besides women rights.
