Two ‘armed terrorists’ killed in Kech operation
QUETTA: Two alleged armed terrorists of a banned outfit were killed in an operation launched by security forces in the Balor area of Hoshab, in Kech district, military’s media wing said.
An intelligence-based operation was initiated to clear a hideout of terrorists, linked with firing on security forces as well as civilians besides planting of improvised explosive devices on M-8 motorway, in the general area of Balor in Hoshab, said a statement issued by the Inter-services Public Relations on Friday.
As a result of continuous intelligence, surveillance and reconnaissance of the area, the hideout of terrorists was identified, it said.
While security forces were taking positions, two terrorists opened fire on the personnel. In the ensuing exchange of fire, the two terrorists were killed, the statement added.
A cache of arms and ammunition, including IEDs, were seized from the hideout of the terrorists, it said.
The ISPR said that security forces, in step with the nation, remain determined to thwart attempts at sabotaging peace, stability and progress of Balochistan.
Only last week, four people coming from the Pak-Iran border area in Waki were gunned down by armed men positioned on nearby hills in Tump area, close to the Kech district, according to official sources. The bodies were moved to Tump hospital where the deceased were identified as Mohammad Iqbal, Niaz Mohammad, Mohammad Hanif and Balaach.
