Robbers have field day in Islamabad
ISLAMABAD: Robbers and thieves looted cash and valuables from 19 different places of Islamabad, police said on Saturday.
In the first incident, two armed men entered a dental clinic of Ali Iftikhar in Pakistan Town and looted its staff of Rs125,000, a laptop and four mobile phones , they said.
In another incident, two robbers intercepted a delivery van of a pharmaceutical company at F-10 Markaz and held up delivery boy Waqas Anjum and driver at gunpoint, the police said adding that later they snatched Rs115,000 at gunpoint and escaped.
Two armed persons intercepted Abdul Manan at Gangal Stop and deprived him of a motorcycle and Rs4,000 at gunpoint.
Two gunmen held up Jan M, a driver of a loading vehicle at Tarlai and looted Rs20,000 and a mobile phone at gunpoint.
Moreover, some burglars broke into a house of retired Col Saleem Akhter at Bharia Town Phase 5 and made off with four tola gold ornaments, $2,000, 680 euros, 2,000 UAE dirham, 300 Qatari riyal, 300 Turkish lira and Rs100,000, the police said.
A thief stole cash Rs150,000 and 12tola gold ornament from the house of M. Munir in G-7/3-2.
Similarly, a culprit broke into a house of M. Shafiq at Usmanabad and looted Rs218,500 cash and households worth Rs13,200, the police said.
Meanwhile, three vehicles including Cultus and Mehran were stolen from Ghouri Town, G-6/2 and F-8 Markaz, the police said, adding that nine motorcycles were lifted from G-9 Markaz, I-14/3, Ghouri Town, E-7, F-7 Markaz, Gulberg Green, F-8, and H-13.
