Punjab Governor Balighur Rehman warns PTI against violence

LAHORE: Governor Balighur Rehman has warned the Pakistan Tehreek-i-Insaf (PTI) of action in case of violence during its long march.

The PTI is resuming the long march in Rawalpindi on Saturday with appeal from its chairman Imran Khan to the nation to take part in it to achieve the “real freedom”.

“Politics of vandalism, siege and arson is not in the interest of the country. Everyone should play a positive role in the development of the country,” the governor said at a meeting with provincial office-bearers of PML-N Sargodha, led by former MPA Abdul Razzaq Dhillon, at the Governor House.

He said politics is the name of selfless service to the people and the PML-N had always taken steps for the welfare of the masses. He said whenever the nation reposed its confidence in the PML-N through vote, the country witnessed progress and development.

Mr Rehman further said the Muslim League in its previous tenures initiated historic projects for public welfare, including motorways, electricity projects and exemplary initiatives in the field of education and health while inflation was at the lowest rate and GDP growth was high. He said the doors of the Governor House were always open for the people and the party workers.
