PTI worker allegedly hits journalist covering long march activities in Hangu

A PTI worker allegedly kicked a journalist who was covering the party’s long march activities in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa’s Hangu district earlier today.

In a video of the incident shared with Dawn.com by the Khyber News journalist, Aisarul Haq, a man is heard repeatedly saying something in Pashto and a PTI worker, after apparently having an argument, seemingly kicking the person holding the recording device so that it tumbles.

Separately, Aisarul Haq explained in a video statement that there were disagreements between PTI MPAs and MNAs in Hangu and in light of this, he asked PTI MNA Nadeem Khayal about low attendance in their convoy.

But his personal secretary, Muhammad Arif, “kicked me, broke my mobile and tortured and abused me,” he alleged, adding that he was injured in the incident and had filed a complaint with the police.

PTI leader Umar Bangash confirmed the incident, saying that a journalist, Aisarul Haq, was persistently asking PTI leaders why the number of participants in their convoy was less.

“At that, PTI leader Muhammad Arif kicked him,” he said, adding that “several people have joined the convoy and we are headed towards Pindi”.
