Rawalpindi police issues security advisory of 28 instructions

Rawalpindi police issued an advisory containing 28 instructions for the security of PTI leaders during the party’s long march gathering in Rawalpindi, it emerged today.

The advisory, a copy of which is available with Dawn.com, said that there have been threat alerts received “regarding the leadership and participants” of the long march.

Consequently, it directed the party to implement the mentioned instructions, including the use of a bulletproof rostrum/stage and vest.

It further said that the PTI leaders should not come out of their vehicles “at public place” and the “VIP on the stage will not interact with the public”.

Private security guards were also prohibited from being present at the venue. Additionally, “adequate provision of lighting” and “alternate arrangements” of power were to be ensured as well.

The Rawalpindi police also banned the use of drone cameras and fireworks and the raising of slogans “against law enforcement agencies and armed forces” during the march.
