Kohat girls’ school starts classes

KOHAT: Pakistan Peoples Party provincial secretary information MPA Amjid Afridi inaugurated higher secondary classes in a girls’ high school in the remote Keri Sheikhan area here.

Speaking on the occasion, he said the girls would now be able to continue education after matriculation.

The lawmaker was accompanied by local elders and officials, according to a statement issued on Sunday.

Mr Afridi said during the three stints in the assembly he had got constructed a number of colleges and schools for both girls and boys in his constituency.

PROTEST: Paramedics and students staged a protest demonstration here on Sunday, demanding shifting of the paramedical institute from far-flung Shaheedano Banda area to the KDA divisional hospital over ‘security’ reasons.

The protest was held in front of the Kohat Press Club.

The protesters said 260 students, including women, were enrolled in the institute.

On the occasion, the paramedics’ association president Rashid Bokhari said the institute also faced water shortage and electricity loadshedding.
