Wapda win national kick-boxing

LAHORE: Wapda clin­ched the National Kick-Boxing Championships here at the Nishtar Park Sports Complex on Monday, thanks to their dominance in the women’s events.

The Wapda women won three gold medals to help the department to emerge as the overall winner above second-placed Balochistan and Police in third after winners of eight different weight categories were decided on the third and final day of the event.

Results:

Men’s:

51kg: 1 M Khalil (KP), 2 Mazhar Khan (Balochistan), 3 Abu Bakar (Wapda), 4 Osama (AJK); 54kg: 1 Junaid (Islamabad), 2 M. Awais (Wapda), 3 Faizullah (Balochistan), 4 Khawar Abbasi (Sindh); 57kg: Arshad (Balochistan), 2 Ahsanullah (KP), 3 Orangzai (Police), 4 Dawood Jan (Wapda); 60kg: 1 Abdul Saboor (Police), 2 Ubaidullah (Wapda), Arif (Balochistan), 3 Hammad Ali Shah (KP); 63kgs: 1 M Sohail (Police), 2 Umair Ahmad (KP), 3 Hayatullah (Balochistan), 4 Saleem Ajmal (Railways); 67kg: 1 Ohsanullah (Islamabad), 2 M. Umar (Railways), 3 Ahad Kamal (Punjab), 4 Sherdil (Police); 75kg: 1 Naseem Khan (Balochistan), 2 Shahzad Khan (Railways), 3 Ahmad Hussan (Wapda), 4 Hussain (Punjab); 81kg: 1 M. Abbas (Police), 2. Wajat Ali (Railways), 3 Ashfaq Jutt (Wapda).

Women’s:

47kg: 1 Noor Fatima (Wapda), 2 Aroob Fatima (Railways); 52kg: 1 Saba Zahoor (Wapda), 2 Javeria (Punjab); 56kgs: 1 Sahiba Yousaf (Wapda), 2 Aqza Fatima (Railways); 60kgs: 1 Rafiyq Riaz (Wapda), 2 Momina (KP).
