Punjab CM Parvez Elahi orders arrest of minor girl’s kidnappers, rapist in Dipalpur

OKARA: Punjab Chief Minister Chaudhry Parvez Elahi, taking notice of the kidnap and rape of a minor girl in Dipalpur area, has sought a report from Sahiwal regional police officer (RPO) on the incident.

As per a handout on Sunday, the chief minister also ordered the police to immediately arrest the three suspects, assuring her father, a labourer, that justice would be done in the case.

According to the FIR registered with Dipalpur city police, the complainant, Khalid Nawaz, said he was out of the town to work as a labourer, leaving his wife and 11-year-old daughter at his house in Ziauddin Colony, Dipalpur.

He said two days back, when his wife had gone out for some work, leaving their daughter alone at home, the suspect, ‘N’, along with two other men barged in, kidnapped the minor girl and took her to an unknown location.

The complainant said he kept searching for the girl but to no avail. He said his daughter finally returned home after two days and told him that ‘N’ had raped her, while his two accomplices stood guard.

On the report of Nawaz, the police have registered a case against ‘N’ and his two accomplices under sections 376 -iii and 365 -B of the Pakistan Penal Code.

The police later claimed to have nabbed the prime suspect ‘N’.

TWO DIE: Two young brothers died from their injuries after their motorcycle was hit by a car on Akbar Road, Okara on Sunday.

As per police, Saleem and his brother Bagga were on a motorcycle when it was knocked down by a car coming from opposite side on Akbar Road. As a result, both suffered critical injuries and died on the spot.

Police rushed to the scene and after completing legal formalities handed the bodies over to their family.

Police are looking for the unidentified driver who managed his escape with the car.

AMBULANCE DAMAGED: Relatives of a man, who was declared dead by the district headquarters hospital doctors, after he was brought there following his fatal fall off his house’s roof, damaged a Rescue 1122 ambulance in rage.

As per Rescue 1122 officials, they shifted to the DHQ hospital a man who had been injured after falling off the roof of his house at Haveli Lakkha, in an ambulance.

At the hospital, the doctors declared the man as ‘received dead’, they said.

On knowing about his death, his relatives got enraged and attacked the ambulance, smashing its windows, the officials said.

The hospital administration called police to control the situation and disperse the agitators.
