CM inaugurates Rs12.6bn uplift projects in Mardan

MARDAN: Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Chief Minister Mahmood Khan inaugurated Rs12.6 billion worth of development projects under the Cities Improvement Project here on Thursday.

The opening ceremony was held inside the Mardan Mega Park, which is under construction in Toru area.

Accompanied by minister Mohammad Atif Khan and Pakistan Tehreek-i-Insaf MNAs, MPAs and senators, the chief minister said that his government would spend a total of Rs14 billion on development projects across Mardan district.

He also said that a two-lane road would be built from Mardan to Katlang at the cost of Rs3.34 billion.

Mr Mahmood said that the government was spending Rs1.29 billion on the Bacha Khan Medical College.

Says he’ll take no time in dissolving PA on Imran’s orders

He said that under the Cities Improvement Project, modern water supply and sewerage systems and treatment plants would be installed in six union councils of the district.

The chief minister also inaugurated work on the Zamong Park to be established over 400 kanals of land at the cost of Rs40 million.

He said if PTI chief Imran Khan asked him to dissolve the provincial assembly, he would do so instantly.

Mr Mahmood said that Mr Imran had granted him the chief minister’s office, so he would take no time to dissolve the provincial assembly on the orders of the chief minister.

He said that the centre should pay Rs190 billion dues to the province without delay otherwise he along with members of the assembly from the province would stage a sit-in outside the Prime Minister’s Office in Islamabad to press the federal government to fulfil their demands.

Minister Mohammad Atif Khan also addressed participants of the inaugural ceremony and urged the chief minister to order authorities to upgrade the Bacha Khan Medical College as a medical university.

He said he had got the Mardan Women’s University, Girls Cadet College Mardan, Fatima Al-Fehri School and University of Engineering and Technology Mardan established.
