Three ‘MQM-L men’ held in Landhi
KARACHI: Rangers on Monday claimed to have arrested three men, said to be associated with the Muttahida Qaumi Movement-London (MQM-L), for their alleged involvement in targeted killing and kidnapping for ransom cases.
Officials said that suspects Shakeel alias Kala, Tariq Jamil alias giant and Shahzad were arrested in a raid in Landhi.
“The held suspects are linked with the Rais Mama and Hamid Pia group of the MQM-London,” said an official. “They confessed that they operated dacoit gangs in Landhi, Korangi and Ibrahim Hyderi and were involved in dozens of house robberies.”
Meanwhile, police on Monday claimed to have arrested a man for allegedly murdering his friend.
Sher Mohammed Khan was shot dead at the Shahiabad graveyard in Frontier Colony on Dec 29. A murder case was registered at the Pirabad police station.
The police, with the help of technology and human intelligence, arrested suspect Umair Ghafoor who killed his friend over some enmity.
