BoG considers new curriculum for DPS
SARGODHA: The Board of Governors of the Divisional Public School and College, Sargodha, has proposed changes in curriculum for 2023-24 session.
A BoG meeting held here under the chairmanship of Commissioner Maryam Khan proposed introduction of Oxford books for pre-school, Oxford and Punjab Curriculum and Textbook Board books from Grade 1 to 7 and Punjab Curriculum and Textbook Board books from Grade 8 to 10.
The meeting further approved joint training sessions to be conducted by expert teachers of the Ali Institute and the Dipalpur DPS for capacity-building of teachers. It said the final approval of changes in syllabus would be given in the light of the opinions of the master trainers.
Commissioner Maryam Khan said the DPS was trying to ensure quality education within the reach of all.
“It is our responsibility to provide a conducive environment for learning, availability of all basic materials and qualified teachers.”
VC: University of Sargodha Vice Chancellor Prof Dr Qaisar Abbas called on Chinese Ambassador Nong Rong on Thursday, says a press release.
He briefed the ambassador on the progress made by the university since its inception in 2002.
Ambassador Nong Rong appreciated the China Studies Programme introduced by the university and promised full support in future endeavours of the university.
He also expressed optimism that with gradual opening of travel to China, more opportunities would be created for people-to-people contacts, academic exchanges and joint research.
Pakistan Institute of China Studies Director Dr Fazalur Rahman, Agriculture Commissioner at the Chinese Embassy Dr Gu and Ms Wang Yiqui also attended the meeting.
