UAE, Pakistan to strengthen strategic partnership

ISLAMABAD: Vowing to strengthen their strategic partnership, Pakistan and the UAE on Friday inked memorandums of understanding (MoUs) in combating human trafficking, information exchange and interaction between diplomatic academies.

The MoUs were signed on the final day of Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif’s two-day official visit which concluded on Friday.

According to a joint statement, both countries agreed to enhance cooperation, particularly in the field of information and communication technologies and work together for bridging the digital divide.

The prime minister held a bilateral meeting with UAE President Sheikh Mohammed bin Zayed Al Nahyan at the Presidential Palace.

The two leaders held detailed discussions to strengthen relationship while also exchanging views on regional political and security matters.

They agreed to enhance cooperation in political, defense, economic, commercial and cultural areas.
