Committee to probe theft of dialysis machines from Murree hospital
RAWALPINDI: The theft of two more dialysis machines from District Headquarters (DHQ) Hospital of Murree on Wednesday put patients in trouble while the district administration formed a three-member committee to investigate the incident.
In June last a dialysis machine was also stolen from the hospital.
There used to be six machines installed at DHQ Hospital Murree by the Punjab government.
After the theft of three dialysis machines the hospital is left with three machines to cope with 150 kidney patients for dialysis in a week.
βIn June, Murree was the tehsil of Rawalpindi District and District Health Authority Chief Executive Officer Dr Anser Ishaq had formed a three-member committee to investigate the theft and directed DHQ Hospital Medical Superintendent Dr Abdul Salam to file a case in the Anti-Corruption Department,β a senior official of the district administration told Dawn.
