PPP criticises Imran’s accusation against Zardari
LAHORE: The PPP condemned the allegation levelled by Pakistan Tehreek-i-Insaf Chairman Imran Khan against former president Asif Ali Zardari of conspiring to kill him.
In a video conference, the former prime minister claimed that former President Zardari paid a terrorist organization to kill him as part of the incumbent government’s Plan C.
PPP Senator Saleem Mandviwalla said in a statement on Friday that Imran appeared to have lost his senses and needed psychological evaluations for making unbelievable allegations.
He said that the PTI chief was attempting to blackmail the government through such scandalous talks. He said that Imran Khan himself had been a supporter of terrorists (read Taliban).
Punjab chapter acting president Rana Farooq Saeed said that Imran Niazi’s accusation that Zardari is hatching a plot to kill him is a lame excuse to gain importance.
He announced that he would move a court of law against the PTI chief in a defamation case for levelling false charges.
He said that the Niazi and company were running on the narrative of lies, slander and dishonesty as a new story was fabricated by it daily to cover up their follies when the PTI was in power.
Information secretary Shehzad Cheema and finance secretary Ahmad Jawad said that the former prime minister would invent a new lie every day to grab the attention of the media.
