Three killed in Shabqadar over land dispute
CHARSADDA: Gunmen killed three people over a land dispute in Tarkha village of Shabqadar tehsil here on Wednesday.
The deceased included Awami National Party leader and former union council nazim Badshah Khan and dispute resolution council member Ibrahim.
Javed, who suffered injuries in the incident, told police that Zulfiqar and his brother, Irfanullah, opened fire at Mr Badshah, Mr Ibrahim, Niaz Ali and him during a discussion on the dispute.
He said Mr Badshah, Mr Ibrahim and Mr Niaz died in Shabqadar and Peshawar hospitals.
The police said they had registered a case against suspected killers and began a search for them.
Meanwhile, Qaumi Watan Party provincial chairman Sikandar Hayat Khan Sherpao on Wednesday paid tribute to former governor Hayat Mohammad Khan Sherpao on the latter’s 48th death anniversary.
“Hayat Sherpao was the first politician from Khyber Pakhtunkhwa to lay down life while striving to help the people from downtrodden segments of society claim rights,” he told reporters in Sherpao village here.
Mr Sikandar placed a wreath on the grave of Mr Hayat. Quran Khwani was held on the occasion.
