LARKANA: Delegation of Sindhis from abroad visits Larkana
LARKANA, Jan 9: A 24-member delegation of Sindhis from India, UK and USA visited Larkana and Moenjodaro on Monday.
The delegation comprised four Sindhis from India, eight from Britain and 12 Sindhi American.
Sham Gianchandani, Raj Waswani and Prem Lalwani led the delegation.
They said they were very much impressed and delighted to see land of their origin and 5,000-year-old Indus valley civilization.
They said their visit would play a role in bringing closer people of Pakistan, UK, India and America.
They said they would tell the people of their countries to come to Pakistan because Pakistanis were loving people and they respect others.
“What is very delightful for us is love and affection showed to us by the people of Larkana which is unforgettable”, they said.
The delegation was received with folk drum beats at Moenjodaro and showered with rose petals.
The guests were so excited that they began to dance.
Sham Gianchandani, a political science professor from the USA, said Sindhi language being spoken in Sindh was so sweet.
He said his elders migrated from Nawabshah to India in 1947 which now had settled in America.
He said there were no communal riots in Sindh in 1947, the Hindus only migrated out of fear.
High Court Bar Association Larkana President Razzak Soomro hosted a dinner in the honour of delegation.
Former Sindh Minister Abdul Ghafoor Bhurgari, DIG Akhtar Hasan Gorchani, District Bar Association President MPA Ayaz Soomro, noted writer Sobho Gainchandani and DPO Saeen Rakhio Mirani attended the meeting.
DADU: The delegation arrived in Mehar on Monday.
Hundreds of residents welcomed the guests.
SGA Mehar chapter held a reception at the Roshan Tara school.
Speaking on the occasion, President of the Alliance of Sindhi Association of America, Jagat Lalwani said Sindh had a thousands years old civilization.
Raj Daswani said he loved Sindh and Sindhis and whenever he visited Sindh, he observed that God had provided him one more life.
