Wonder Craft: Fancy craft stick box
For kids of all ages, an art project that engages them for a couple of screen-free hours is a great way to stimulate their restless minds and occupy their idle hands with creative work. Therefore, today we are unleashing your creativity by making a multi-coloured craft stick box.
This box can be used to store items on the desktop or as a jewellery box.
Let’s start:
Things you need:
A pack of thin multi-coloured craft sticks (you need roughly 35 sticks)
Glitter sheets: two (any colour)
Some stones or beads for decoration
Piece of cardboard to make the sides (walls) of the box
Hot glue
Scissors
Ruler
Directions:
Make two circles with a compass or any mould on the cardboard having the radius of 2 inches, then cut them out, pictures, 2 and 3.
Cut the circles from one side, leaving a little less than one inch from the edge, pictures 4 and 5.
Cut glitter sheet in the same shape, and paste on both sides of these semi-circles (wall or sides of the box), picture 6 and 7.
Take another glitter sheet, cut 21cm long and 9.5cm wide piece from it; then cut another piece that is 13cm long, 9.5cm wide, picture 8.
Now paste the craft sticks on both the pieces, pictures 9 and 10.
Paste the walls we made earlier with the hot glue on each side of the large craft-stick piece, pictures 11 and 12.
Using the hot glue, roll this craft-stick piece on the walls of the box, picture 13.
Take the smaller piece of craft-sticks, and paste it as a cover on the now opened box, pictures 14 and 15.
To make a lock on the box, make a loop from any string on the cover, and paste a large bead on the bottom side of the box while measuring the distance between loop and bead, picture 16.
Decorate the way you like.
