Quake jolts Sehwan
DADU, Jan 13: An earthquake of a low-intensity hit Sehwan Sharif and surrounding villages at 11:55am on Friday. As a result, glasses of windows and doors of some houses were smashed in Sehwan. No loss of life was reported. Residents of different localities and villages came out of their houses and gathered at open grounds.
Sehwan Taluka Nazim Sikandar Rahpoto told Dawn that Sehwan town and surrounding areas were jolted.
He said he was sleeping in his house when he heard cries and came out of his house.
The nazim said that duration of earthquake was 5 to 6 seconds.
He said doctors were directed to remain at hospitals to meet any eventuality.
Sehwan Taluka Mukhtiarkar Nazar Mohammad Shahani said that earthquake was of a low intensity and it was not dangerous.
TWO WOMEN DIE: Two women, Tasleem Rajput, 40, resident of Sonari Mohalla, Dadu town, and Khatoon, 36, resident of the Fateh Mohammad Kabooro village, Dadu taluka, were brought to the Civil Hospital, Dadu, with complaint of severe chest pain on Eid day. Both of them died as no cardiologist was available at the hospital.
