DC announces new Peacemaker series
Peacemaker has gone from being an obscure part of DC lore to a bonafide household name, thanks to John Cena’s blockbuster appearances as him in The Suicide Squad and HBO Max’s Peacemaker.
Recently, DC announced (via Popverse), Peacemaker Tries Hard! a new series that will be published under their Black Label imprint.
According to DC’s official synopsis, having earned his release from the Suicide Squad, Peacemaker wants to try and do normal superhero stuff for a change. Unfortunately, everyone, including the bad guys, thinks he sucks at superhero stuff. Then a dog is kidnapped right out from under him by a super-villain, who has some very un-super-heroic plans for Peacemaker’s brand of ultraviolence. While a sophomore season of Peacemaker has been confirmed to be in the works, it is not expected to arrive right away.

The filmmakers for the new projects are yet to be announced, although Jackson and his Lord of the Rings collaborators Fran Walsh and Philippa Boyens said they have been kept “in the loop every step of the way.”
Marvel announces new Daredevil & Echo series
Marvel Comics announced a new series featuring the street-level characters, Echo (Alaqua Cox) and Daredevil (Charlie Cox), currently being written by Taboo and B. Earl.
Promoted as a four-issue mini-series, Daredevil&Echo will see the titular duo come face-to-face with the Demogoblin in hopes of saving the Big Apple from the demon’s villainous ways. The fact Echo’s lost the Phoenix Force is one of the plot threads at the fore front.
Together, Taboo and B. Earl have written a handful of comics for Marvel, including Werewolf by Night, Deadly Neighbourhood Spider-Man, and Marvel’s Voices: Indigenous Voices. As it stands now, Daredevil & Echo is set for release on May 24th.
