Over 20 bureaucrats promoted to Grade 22

ISLAMABAD: More than 20 bureaucrats have been promoted to Grade 22, the highest attainable rank for civil servants during their careers.

The promotion of 22 officers from BS-21 to BS-22 was okayed by the High Powered Selection Board (HPSB) headed by Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif on Friday.

The biggest cohort of promoted officers came from the Pakistan Administrative Services with 10 bureaucrats.

Shahera Shahid was the sole officer from the Information Group to be promoted.

She is currently serving as the Ministry of Infor­mation and Broadcasting secretary.

Pakistan Adminis­tra­tive Ser­vice (PAS) officers got promoted included Secretary Inter-Pro­vin­cial Coordination Ahmed Hanif Orakzai, Secretary Benazir Income Support Programme Yusuf Khan, Secretary Information Technology Mohsin Mushtaq Chandna, National School of Public Policy Secretary Sajid Siddique, Pakistan Agricultural Storage and Services Corporation Managing Director Saeed Ahmed Nawaz, National Commission on Status of Women Secretary Arif Anwar Baloch, Finance Special Secretary Awais Manzur Sumra, Interior Special Secretary Syed Ali Murtaza, Estab­lish­ment Division Additional Secretary Waseem Mukhtar Chaudhry and Officer on Special Duty Ali Sher Mahsud. The officers of the Police Service of Pakistan (PSP) who were promoted included chiefs of Azad Kashmir and Motorway police, Amir Ahmed Sheikh and Khalid Mahmood, respectively.

Khalid Javed and Hasan Akhtar Khan of the Postal Group were also promoted.

Earlier on Thursday, the HPSB promoted Ahmad Hassan Dayo, Imtiaz Ahmed Qazi, Mohammad Cyrus Sajjad Qazi, Mohammad Hassan, Zahoor Ahmed and

Amna Baloch of Forei-gn Service of Pakistan and Samina A. Hassan of the Secretariat Group in BS-22.
