Wonder Craft: Hanging bottle planter

Plastic bottles are the perfect material for recycling; they are transparent, elastic and flexible, and can easily and quickly be transformed into various reusable items.

There are many ways of reusing plastic bottles and today, we are making an amazing planter to enhance the beauty of our house.

Things you need:

  1. Water bottles (two, 250ml)

  2. Scissors

  3. Paper cutter

  4. Jute rope

  5. Hot glue

  6. Bamboo sticks (you can also use craft sticks)

  7. Marker

Directions:

  1. Make a small rectangle with a marker on one bottle, picture 2.

  2. Mark another bottle at the bottom, picture 3.

  3. Cut marked pieces out from the bottles, the rectangle and the bottom of the bottle, picture 4.

  4. Put some hot glue on the cap of the bottle, then insert this side into the piece of bottle we just cut out, picture 5.

  5. Take the sticks and paste them on the bottle one by one, slowly and carefully; start from any one side of the rectangular cut out, picture 6.

  6. Keep pasting until you reach the other side of the cut-out on the bottle, pictures 7 and 8.

  7. At this stage, you will need short pieces of sticks to paste on both sides of the cut out, pictures 9 and 10.

  8. You now have a clear rectangle opening, from where you can put water or soil, and also the plants.

  9. Once the sticks are all pasted around the bottle, tie jute rope on both sides of the planter, as shown in pictures 11, and 12.

  10. Cut a piece of jute rope according to the size you want the planter to be hanged at, then tie it around both sides of the planter, picture, 13.

Now put water or soil, according to the plants you have decided to put inside.

Beautify your room with this easy DIY project that not just helps you recycle plastic, but also brings some greenery indoors.
