The importance of reading

This is regarding the article “The importance of reading” by Afaq Bukhari (YW, February 18). The significance of book reading cannot be denied.

Reading books is a habit that improves reading skills and spelling, we get ideas, and our concepts become clearer through reading books of any kind.

Moreover, reading boosts the power of imagination and creativity.

I agree with Afaq Bukhari in his article “The importance of reading” that books are a bundle of precious knowledge of different types.

Reading has countless benefits in the long term, it boosts our brain, helps us know more about the world, improves our vocabulary and we understand the world in a better way. Reading books is a gift that we should all take advantage of.

I learnt a great deal from the article “The importance of reading” by Afaq Bukhari. Reading helps improve memory, concentration and focus; it also reduces stress level and enhances sleep quality.

Reading is one of the best ways to have positive effects on mental health.

The age of radio in Pakistan

This is with reference to the article “The age of radio in Pakistan” by Faraz Ahmed (YW, February 11). The writer has well-described the age of radio in Pakistan. Radio Pakistan plays a pivotal role in bringing news, education and entertainment to people across the country.

It plays a crucial role in shaping public opinion and fostering national identity. Ever since its inception, many artists and poets have started their careers from this platform.

“The age of radio in Pakistan” by Faraz Ahmed gave details about how the radio started in Pakistan and how gradually it changed the lives of people.

I always turn on the radio when I’m anywhere without access to the internet. I use it to listen to the latest news and cricket match results. It was rightly said by the writer that no matter how societies advance, the radio will never go out of fashion, it will remain in our lives in a modern way.
