BHC stops land allotment in Winder

QUETTA: A division bench of the Balochistan High Court has stopped allotment of 15,000 acres of land in the command area of Winder town in Hub district.

The bench comprised Justice Abdullah Baloch and Justice Iqbal Ahmed Kasi.

Mohammad Aslam Bhootani, member of the National Assembly from Gwadar-cum-Lasbela constituency of NA-272, had filed a constitutional petition in the BHC under Article 199 of the Constitution, challenging the allotment of 15,000 acres of land in the command area of Winder.

The bench, after hearing arguments of Amanullah Kanrani, who appeared before the court on behalf of the petitioner, on Thursday stopped the Board of Revenue, Balochistan, to allot the land.

Mr Kanrani pleaded that an application was submitted in the Balochistan chief minister office on Jan 25.
