Minister examines free flour points in Gujrat
GUJRAT: Punjab caretaker minister for education Mansoor Qadir on Sunday visited Gujrat to examine the free flour distribution centres established for the needy and poor.
The minister went to three points including district council hall, Saad Marquee and Basheer Marriage Hall along old GT road in the city and also talked to the people present at the occasion.
Gujrat deputy commissioner Safdar Virk, additional deputy commissioner revenue (ADCR) Khizar Hayat Bhatti and Gujrat assistant commissioner Haider Abbas were also accompanying the minister.
The minister said premier Shahbaz Sharif and Punjab chief minister Mohsin Naqvi launched the relief package for the poor through distribution of free flour bags of 10 kilogram across the province for which the officials of land revenue and food departments had been assigned the task to make foolproof arrangements.
He said in order to ensure the quality and quantity of the flour, the mills were being constantly monitored by the concerned authorities as any kind of negligence by the officials would not be tolerated.
However, he expressed satisfaction over the so far distribution of free flour bags across the province.
Earlier, the Gujrat DC briefed the minister that at least 21 distribution points had been established in three tehsils of the district whereas two points in Gujrat city would remain open until 12 at night to facilitate the masses.
