KMU campus inaugurated in Abbottabad

ABBOTTABAD: Khyber Medical University (KMU) Vice-chancellor Prof Ziaul Haq has said that the university will provide full support to all its affiliated institutes.

He was addressing the inaugural ceremony of Institute of Health Sciences Hazara Campus, Khyber Medical University, as a chief guest here.

Dr Luke, the director of Bach Christian Hospital Qalandarabad, was guest of honour on the occasion.

Dr Sadia Fatima, the director of IHS Hazara Campus, welcomed the guests from KMU, Ayub Medical College Abbottabad, Abbottabad International Medical Institute, Women Medical College Abbottabad and Bach Christian Hospital Qalandarabad.

She briefed them about various programmes being offered by the institute and its achievements. She also informed them about various memorandums of understanding (MoUs) signed by IHS with other institutions.

At the ceremony, KMU and Bach Christian Hospital (BCH) also signed a memorandum of understanding. The MoU was signed by Prof Ziaul Haq and Dr Luke.

The institutions agreed to utilise each other’s academic and research resources. KMU would provide students with knowledge and research opportunities while BCH would provide training facilities to students in various fields.

Speaking on the occasion, Prof Zia congratulated Dr Sadia Fatima and her team for their efforts for developing the campus and commencing classes of various programmes in the shortest possible time.

He offered his fullest cooperation and support to all the affiliated institutes of the university. Responding to a suggestion regarding allocation of a quota for local students in various programmes, he said that he would use his good offices to tackle the matter.

Earlier, Prof Zia planted a sapling on the premises of the campus. He along with all the guests took a round of the institute and appreciated the quality of programmes and services being offered by it.
