Story time: Saad's special Eid!

It was the morning of Eid and the air was filled with the scent of rose petals and sweet treats. As the sun rose over the horizon, the streets of the town came alive with the sounds of children laughing and the chatter of families gathering for the festivities.

Among the revellers was a young boy Saad, who had spent weeks looking forward to Eid and had saved up his pocket money to buy sweets to share with his friends.

As he walked down the streets, he couldn’t help but smile at the sight of the colourful decorations and the happy faces of his neighbours. But as Saad made his way through the crowd, he noticed a group of children who were sitting alone in a corner. They looked sad and lonely, and Saad knew that they didn’t have any new clothes or sweets to celebrate the Eid. Without a second thought he went over to them and offered to share his sweets.

At first, the children hesitated, but as Saad explained that Eid was a time of sharing and kindness, they began to smile and accept his offer.

As they sat together sharing sweets and stories, Saad realised that this was what Eid was truly about, not just new clothes and treats, but also about spreading joy and kindness to those around us.

As the day went on, Saad continued to spread joy and kindness wherever he went. He helped his neighbour decorate their home, he played games with the children and also offered help to his mother to prepare the Eid feast.

And as the sun began to set on the day. Saad felt a deep sense of happiness and contentment. He realised the real meaning of what Eid really is all about — celebrating by sharing and connecting with family and community.

As Saad sat down for the Eid dinner with his family. He knew that this had been the best Eid yet. He had learnt that the true joy of this day does not come from what we have, but from what we give to others. And he knew that he would carry this lesson with him long after the Eid festivities had ended.

So, as we have celebrated Eid this year, let us remembered the importance of kindness and generosity. Let us spread joy and kindness to those around us and let us make every day of our life truly, special and memorable by sharing our blessings with those in need.
