‘Imran welcomes turncoats, abhors politicians’
LAHORE: Shehla Raza, a senior leader of the PPP and Sindh minister, criticised PTI Chairman Imran Khan stating that he may welcome turncoats but cannot engage with seasoned politicians.
At a press conference on Friday, she said Mr Khan does not view his opponents as politicians, and likewise, they do not consider him as one either.
Ms Raza emphasised the importance of bringing together all political leaders to sign a charter of economy and discuss future elections. She accused the PTI chief of being a habitual liar and propagating the use of abusive language among the nation.
When questioned about the arrests made following the May 9 incidents, she condemned the misuse of force but stressed the need for exposing the individuals responsible for the arson attacks and hold them accountable.
Expressing disappointment over the justifications provided for the arson attacks, she questioned whether politicians from other parties, including the PPP, had not also been arrested. She said no party engaged in attacking civilian or military buildings after the arrests of its leaders.
Regarding the case of the attack on the PTV building during the 2014 PTI sit-in in Islamabad, she argued if the case had been judicially adjudicated, no one would have dared to set fire to the Jinnah House and the GHQ.
