PTI’s Ali Zaidi quits politics, resign from party positions
PTI Sindh President Ali Haider Zaidi has announced his decision to “quit” politics and resign from positions within the PTI, describing it as a “difficult decision” that he arrived at after “extensive deliberation”.
In a video message, Zaidi affirmed his commitment to serving Pakistan and emphasised that his initial purpose for joining politics was to contribute to the betterment of the country.
“I have already condemned the May 9 incidents. Whatever happened was wrong, and all those responsible should be brought to justice regardless of who was involved in it,” he said, while emphasising the significance of the Pakistan Army. Zaidi expressed his belief that the Pakistan Army is a source of pride for the nation, stating, “We sleep peacefully because of them as they protect our borders.”
He went on to say: “After extensive deliberation, I have made the decision to quit politics. Consequently, when I step away from politics, I will also tender my resignation from positions held within the PTI, including my role as an MNA and core committee member.”
Zaidi concluded by reiterating his dedication to serving Pakistan and attracting foreign investments, ending his message with the declaration of “Pakistan Army Zindabad, Pakistan Zindabad.”
