Will keep standing with Imran despite threats, vows Sheikh Rashid

Awami Muslim League chief and PTI ally Sheikh Rashid has said he will keep supporting PTI Chairman Imran Khan, even if at the risk of facing death.

In a video message shared on his Twitter account, he alleged, “Three people have been engaged to end (kill) me.

“I want to tell the nation that I have the right to defend myself and I have written to the authorities of Pakistan’s actual government that there is a limit to abuse,” he added.

Saying that those leaving the PTI might be cowards or under pressure and threats, Rashid added, “Death is my beloved, handcuffs are my jewellery […] and until Imran is fighting this fight, I am standing with him.”

The AML chief alleged that raids are being conducted at the houses of his sisters, brothers and mother, who had passed 30 years ago.

Clarifying that he was not present in Pakistan when the incidents of May 9 took place, he said he still condemned them.

“I consider the Pakistan Army the country’s protector but I am not a coward,” Rashid said.
