MOHMAND: A policeman was martyred when unidentified attackers opened indiscriminate fire on a checkpost in Aman Ghundiara area of Safi tehsil here on Sunday night, officials said.

They said the unknown assailants escaped after attacking the checkpost. They said a constable identified as Jamshid Khan was critically injured in the attack. He was shifted to a hospital in Peshawar, where he succumbed to injuries.

The police registered a case and started investigation.
